FAQ

FAQ

Answers to common questions about courses, fees and how online learning works.

Can I take a course while I'm at my regular high school?

Yes. Most of our students do. You stay at your school, take one or two courses with us, and we send your final mark to your school when you finish. Let your guidance counsellor know so they can plan around it.

I'm an adult. Can I still finish my high school diploma?

Yes. Send us any transcripts you have, even old ones, and we'll tell you which credits still count and what's left to earn your OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma).

I live outside Canada. Can I take courses?

Yes. You don't need a study permit for online courses. You just need a reliable internet connection and a computer. Please send your most recent transcripts, translated into English if needed.

We homeschool. Can my child earn Ontario credits?

Yes. Your child gets a teacher who marks their work, and at the end they receive a report card and an official Ontario credit.

What do I need to register?

Your contact details, a parent's details if you're under 18, and a recent report card or transcript if the course has a prerequisite. If you have an Ontario Education Number (OEN), add it too.

How much does a course cost?

Grades 9–10 courses are $439. Grades 11–12 and ESL courses are $589. Half-credit courses (Civics and Careers) are $219. All fees are in Canadian dollars, and each course's price is shown on the Courses page.

How do I pay?

You pay online when you register. Payments are processed securely, and card details are never stored on our website.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in some cases, for example if you change your mind before your course starts. See our Refund Policy for details.

I registered for the wrong course. What can I do?

Contact us as soon as possible. If you haven't submitted any work, we'll move you to the right course.

When can I start?

You can register any day of the year. Once your registration is processed, you'll receive your login details by email.

How long does a course take?

It depends on you. You work at your own pace. Every Ontario credit represents 110 hours of learning, so a course can't be finished in just a few days.

Is there a real teacher?

Yes. Every course has a teacher who marks your assignments, gives written feedback and answers your questions.

How do I log in to my course?

Use the Student Login link at the top of our website, with the details from your welcome email.

How does the final exam work?

When your coursework is done, you write a supervised final exam. We'll explain the steps when you reach the end of your course.

Do the credits count toward my OSSD?

Yes. Every course follows the Ontario curriculum and counts toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

I don't have the prerequisite. What can I do?

Contact us. In some cases a prerequisite can be waived with the agreement of a parent or guidance counsellor, and we'll explain how it works.

Will you send my marks to universities or colleges?

Yes. Tick OUAC (universities) or OCAS (colleges) when you register, or just ask us later.

I have an IEP. Can I get support?

Yes. Upload your IEP (Individual Education Plan) when you register, and we'll share it with your teacher so they can plan the right supports.

How do I contact the school?
